Where sources disagree

  • The NPS campgrounds page labels its table '2027', but the NPS operating-dates page gives different 2026 dates. Bridge Bay: table 5/7–10/16 vs 2026 May 15–Sept 13. Madison: table 5/7–10/16 vs 2026 May 1–Oct 17. Grant: table 6/18–9/25 vs 2026 June 26–Sept 26. Canyon: table 5/28–9/18 vs 2026 May 29–Sept 19. Indian Creek: table 'TBD' vs 2026 June 12–Sept 14.
  • Mammoth winter first-come period: the NPS campgrounds page says Oct 15 – Apr 1; Recreation.gov says Oct 16 – Apr 16, with reservations required from April 15.
  • Mammoth RV length: Recreation.gov says 30 ft from November through April. An NPS table footnote gives an unspecified winter limit and 45 ft from May through mid-October.
  • Max RV length at Bridge Bay, Madison, and Grant: the NPS table gives 60/60/50 ft, but the largest Lodges site category is RV up to 40 ft combined.
  • The NPS directions page gives a 75 ft maximum RV length, while Fishing Bridge RV Park advertises sites for hard-sided RVs up to 95 ft combined.
  • Backcountry Early Access Lottery: winners' booking period ends April 24 on the main page but April 25 in one FAQ entry.
  • The NPS campgrounds page says 'all campsites must be reserved in advance' but also lists Mammoth as open year-round with winter first-come sites.
  • Dunraven Pass: the Park Roads page projected a closure around Oct 12, 2026; the Oct 21, 2026 news release says it stays open through Oct 31, weather permitting.
